The posting vanishes

I was half through a new posting when Blogger went on the blink, and even though I had saved everything I wrote, it has now vanished. I'll rewrite it, or something like it (as Heraclitus said, you can never step in the same blog twice). But it could take awhile, as it was relatively elaborate.

If I may be so bold as to make a suggestion...draft in Word, copy and paste into Blogger.

Jas,

When I have tried that, I've found that importing a Word file into Blogger introduces a lot of extra, complicated HTML coding. If I need to do any tinkering with the HTML, it becomes much more difficult.

Not sure if this is helpful (and would depend on the sophistication of the formatting you do in your drafting), but you might copy/paste from your word proc. into Notepad, then copy/paste from Notepad to Blogger. Those two steps strip out any formatting from the word processor and let you put plain ASCII into Blogger. The great virtue is that if Blogger blows up, you don't lose your work. Might be worth a try, anyway. Good luck!

Jas,

That sounds like a good suggestion. I don't normally use Notepad, but if it produces pure ASCII, that should transfer better into the Blogger field. Thanks.
